The instructions should work well no matter the size.

The tapestry needle is decent and works well for its purpose. I have downloadd and crocheted other kits from this company the Peanuts and Classic Disney as well as one distributed by another company but which looks exactly like this brand with a slightly different box Disney Winnie the Pooh. The instructions in the kits are all very similar as are the materials.

I have been very impressed with the previous kits and believe this one will be just as good. On the whole, I really like the kit and the instructions and recommend it to an intermediate or above crocheter without hesitation. Or Do Not. There is no Try.

I used this kit to learn to crochet. Between the instructions in the book, and watching a few videos online, I was able to practice and figure it out. I made the stormtrooper with the included yarn, and it came out halfway decent. Everyone I showed it too thought it was great, even though I know I messed up in a lot of places.

Since you only need two colors, making stormtroopers is a great way to practice making amigurumi figures. I found the website online for the colors and types of yarn the author used for the rest of the characters, you can find her blog post using the search terms "lucy ravenscar star wars crochet yarn used".

I'm putting the colors below. I have the same critique that many others do, I wish the book was spiral bound so it could lay flat when reading it. As is, it's kinda hard to read the directions, do your round, and then go back to the book. I ended up making copies of the pages I use the most, and reading off those instead.

The Luke figure in the picture was made using all Hayfield Bonus DK, and some black yarn I got at a local hobby store. A lot of figures use Black and White , but here are the other colors used: Boba Fett: Darth Vader: Orchard and Wheat Luke Skywalker Jedi: See all reviews.

When I had made enough rows for Yoda, I was instructed to place the safety eyes. There were no instructions for them, at least none that I found in my kit. After many attempts trying to get them in, we gave up and moved on. Definitely need to know how to add the safety eyes.

After a few of hours of reading, setting up, and figuring things out I got this far in my creation! If you are an advance crochet-er, you will crank these guys out in no time.

If you are starting out like me, you will have a bit of a rough start but once you get it, the instructions are clear.

But I did come across a random discarded doll head where I had used that particular yarn — perfect!

Yarn recycling is awesome! Assembly is my least favorite part of the process but overall, I am very pleased with how the Ewok came out! Look at his cute little face with those little ears sticking out of his hood! Here is my Boba Fett figure. I made him here without his cape. I think a little jetpack would be so cool… The kit came with 2 sets of eyes and I had already used a pair for the Ewok.Customers who bought this item also bought.

That's really just a technique I haven't learned, and since I'm completely self taught I suppose I need to find a teacher to make me hip to that bit of crocheting savvy. I ended up making copies of the pages I use the most, and reading off those instead.
