I only want Lync to look at the Company address book. I've noticed some of my clients not downloading the gal files at all since the copy the following files from a working user/PC to mine and worked like a charm. Lync Address book is not working on Lync mobile phones (IPhone,Android) . Error: "we can't connect to the server right now. Please. This happened after upgrading my client from Lync to Skype4Business version. My Skype server is in Lync server version and everything was working error appears: “Cannot synchronize with the corporate address book”.

The address book creation in Lync client happens separately and it never talks to Exchange. From the Lync Server Management Shell enter the following Get-CsClientPolicy cmdlet to list all defined client policies by name as well as list the current address book setting.

Force ABWQ As previously mentioned the modified behavior will only be set for a single Lync user as a preliminary test by defining a new client policy and than granting that policy to the user. To create a new client policy using the default settings, yet modifying the client address book behavior, enter the following command in the Lync Server Management Shell using any desired string for the Identity value to set of the name of the new policy e.

To visually verify that the ABWQ service will be used first delete the cached address book file if this user has already signed-in to Lync once previously on this workstation.

What would be a good way to make a company global address book that also company users can expand on. Is it possible to use Sharepoint or other searchable directory thats easy for end users to add new contacts to? I have an issue where the organization tab is showing incomplete info missing some users when view in lync client. It seems that only lync client is not able to show full complete organization info.

Something else…?

May I know is this some kind of bug in lync client? If so, is there any fix or workaround solution for this.

Verify if this is enabled for the users that have this issue. They need to be able to connect and authenticate to Exchange on autodiscover. If that is corrected you will see that contacts reappear.

If I go to my client and navigate to the URL of the correct lsabs file I can download it manually, but when launching the client the IIS logs continue to show a request to the wrong endpoint. I have a strange issue with Lync Contacts Search.

When I am logged in to Lync externally , I can not find their contact even if I type their email or sip address. All users contacts appear properly in GAL.

Your help is highly appreciated. I have a problem, where we had a demerger and one of the sip domain was remoeved. All the users were deprovisioned from Lync and user objects are also removed from AD. When I do a search with any of the removed Domain users, I am still able to see.

When I ran the command get-csuser, it says cannot be found, however when I do a test-csaddressbookwebquery, it is successful. My goal is to get those users removed from my lync search. I feel that this could be due to Lync Contacts folder in exchange mailbox, but if this is true, then would i need to get all the users Lync Contacts folder purged? Do you mean the test-csaddressbookwebquery returns a successful result and the user can still be found?

If so, try using the update-csuserdatabase and after that has been successfully done run the update-csaddressbook cmdlet. Also those removed users need to be deleted from the Outlook contacts folder, as that folder will also be searched by the Lync client. Yes, the Test-csaddresswebquery shows success. I find that the Addressbook updates automatically every 2 hrs.
